'Young lovers seek perfection.
Old lovers learn the art of sewing shreds together,
and of seeing beauty in a multiplicity of patches.'
~ How to Make an American Quilt
I watched this beautiful film again this weekend. We sew our story quilts in different ways, each stitch our own. We are creators.

It's okay to be authentic and say NO, dismiss, reject. To stand in my truth. There's nothing wrong with saying no. In fact, it's a growth for me. I have had difficulty with this little word. It's hard to hear it and hard to say it. If something or someone no longer serves me or I feel that they don't resonate with me on a Soul level, I am prepared to walk away. I am ready to be decisive about my life and the people and things in it and choose whom and what to keep with me on this journey. No more apologies.

'Deep at the centre of my Being there is an infinite well of LOVE. I now allow this love to flow to the surface. It fills my heart, my body, my mind, my Consciousness, my very Being and radiates out from me in all directions and returns to me multiplied. The more love I use and give, the more I have to give, the supply is endless. The use of love makes me feel good; it is an expression of my inner joy. I love myself, therefore I take loving care of my body. I lovingly feed it nourishing food. I lovingly groom it and dress it and my body lovingly responds to me with vibrant health and energy. I love myself, therefore I provide for myself a comfortable home, one that fills all my needs and is a pleasure to be in. I fill the rooms with the vibration of love so that all who enter, myself included, will feel this love and be uplifted by it. I love myself, therefore I work at a job that I truly enjoy doing, one that uses my talents and abilities, working with people that I love and love me, and earning a good income. I love myself, therefore, I behave in a loving way to all people for I know that that which I give out returns to me multiplied. I only attract loving people into my world for they are a mirror of what I am. I love myself, therefore I forgive and totally release the past and all past experiences and I am free. I love myself, therefore I love totally in the NOW, experiencing each moment as good and knowing that my future is bright, and joyous and secure, for I am a beloved child of the Universe and the Universe lovingly takes care of me now and forever more. And so it is.' ~ Louise. L Hay

'I believe in love. And beauty. I believe that every single person has something they find beautiful and that they truly love. The smell of their child's hair, the silence of a forest, their lover's crooked grin. I believe that if you follow this love all the way to its end, if you start with the thing you find most beautiful and trace it's perfume back to its essence, you will perceive an intangible presence, a swath of stillness that allows the thing you love to be visible like the openness of the sky reveals the presence of the moon.' ~ Geneen Roth

Today let all my perspectives and my perceptions of Life be led by my Soul. I can determine my full level of happiness as a Self-referred Being without being so susceptible to the ebbs and flows; ups and downs and expansions and constrictions of all those things outside of myself. Let me lead from within as the most authentic, genuine expression of the vast Abundant Universe and let abundance, creativity, expansion, growth, happiness, deep, deep fulfillment and love flow through me. Today I walk through life with greater grace and ease.

'Hear blessings dropping their blossoms around you.' ~ Rumi
'Blossoms are scattered by the wind and the wind cares nothing, but the blossoms of the heart, no wind can touch. ~ Yoshida Kenko
Spring is my favourite season. September is my birthday month and brings with it every year a soft, warm breeze, buds on the trees and that delicious, heady blossomy fragrance to the spring air at night. This is a time of renewal and the promise of the emergence of new things in my life. Spring is energy, spring is growth. I'm savouring it.

'One of the greatest moments in man's developing experience is when he no longer tries to hide from himself but determines to get acquainted with himself as he really is.' ~ Norman Vincent Peale
I believe painful situations are sent to us as invitations to look deeper inside ourselves. I see these situations as mirrors, where we have the opportunity to see parts of ourselves reflected back at us that we may not necessarily like. Sometimes we get a glimpse of ourselves as others see us. Sometimes it's hard to look. Situations that cause us pain highlight deep facets of our Being that need healing, that may have been suppressed or ignored, urging us to acknowledge them, offering us the gift to work on them.
Instead of just being hurt by a situation, feeling wounded and notching up a grievance or resentment, I am at a place in my healing journey where I am able to dig a little deeper, see the situation as an invitation to change. Even if my heart bleeds a little.

'When you're feeling unwell, remember that the same power that actually made your body knows how to restore it to its original state of well-being. All you have to do is remove the obstacles erected by you and your toxic world, and allow this healing power to flow through you.'
~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

'The world was hers for the reading.' ~ Betty Smith
'The journey into the page. To be in a book. To slip into the crease where two pages meet, to live in the place where your eyes alight upon the words to ignite a world of smoke and peril, colour and serene delight. That is a journey no one can end.' ~ Anne-Marie MacDonald
Aaah... to read. I love, love, love books, always have, always will. I read daily. Books immerse me deeper into my healing journey experience and sometimes allow me to escape from it. I'm a word nerd and a library geek through and through and I love it.

On this the 9th anniversary of 9/11, I feel in tune with the collective Consciousness and all the sorrow that is felt Universally today. I am sending healing energy out to every soul effected by this tragedy and all the families who lost loved ones on this day, my heart goes out to you. These events effected me very deeply. On 11 September 2001, it was just over 6 months since we had lost our precious Mom, I remember thinking that she would greet many souls that day. I can't help but feel her presence very strongly today as I remember my experience of that day, where I was, how it felt, how I watched those unbelievable events unfold in real time before my eyes, the terror, the panic, the shock and dismay. How my siblings and I made hurried phone calls to each other. Watching documentaries over the last few days brings it all back. Part of me still cannot believe what really happened.
All I can do now is feel what I'm feeling with an open heart, allow it to flow. In doing so I begin to heal my heart and release the trauma I still hold in my body from that day and that year. Remembering these events helps me to address some of my deeply held grief and through the tears, I'm thankful for that. Let's love each other, let's heal, let's never forget those we lost but move ahead with our lives in peace and be happy for each new breath.

'I came to a clear conclusion, and it is a Universal one: To live, to struggle, to be in love with life, in love with all life holds, joyful or sorrowful, is fulfillment. The fullness of life is open to all of us.' ~ Betty Smith
"To look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: Thus is your time one earth filled with glory.' ~ Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

'There is plenty for everyone, let us bless and prosper each other.'
~ Louise L. Hay
'There is plenty for everyone, including me. The ocean of Life is lavish with its Abundance. All my needs and desires are met before I even ask. My good comes from everywhere and everyone and everything.'
~ Louise L. Hay
There are no limits to Universal Abundance and there is enough prosperity for everyone. We create our own limitations by internalising negativity and spreading the fear-based ideologies of debt-consciousness, creating more of it by putting our attention on fear and lack. Let's start putting our energy into creating and attracting abundance in our lives. It's time to heal ourselves, each other, our planet and this 'recession' by changing how we think.

'When you are grounded in the knowledge of your true Self ~ when you really understand your true nature ~ you will never feel guilty, fearful or insecure about money or affluence or fulfilling your desires because you will realise that the essence of all material wealth is life energy, it is pure potentiality. And pure potentiality is your intrinsic nature.'
~ Deepak Chopra
At my essence, I am pure potentiality, pure Consciousness, pure creative energy. I have nothing to feel fearful, unsafe or insecure about. Nothing. Today I get in touch with my intrinsic nature, this endless supply of pure potentiality, this pure essence of my Being and let it lead me on my new creative challenge. I become weightless and fly free. I am endlessly creative. I flow with what IS and am okay with what will BE.

'Close your eyes and put both hands over your heart. Picture a stream of brilliant white light entering your heart. Focus on the vision of light and say out loud: 'I am willing to let the love in.' Feel the energy flowing into your heart.' ~ Louise L. Hay
Today ~ through irritations, emotional upheavals, constrictions, insecurities and physical pain, I will let the love in. Let it flow into my heart and heal me.

'Be happy. Love yourself. Don't judge others. Forgive. Always be simple. Don't make distinctions. Give up the habit of choice. Let the mind dissolve. Give up preferring and desiring. Desire only your own awareness. Give up identifying with the body and the senses. Give up your attachment to meditation and service. Give up your attachment to detachment. Give up giving up! Reject nothing, accept nothing. Be still. But above all, be happy. In the end, you will find yourself just by knowing how things are.'
~ Ashtavakra Gita, The Gospel of Self-Effacement.

'I am the infinite deep
In whom all the worlds appear to rise.
Beyond all form, forever still.
So am I.'
~ Ashtavakra Gita
The satguru, Neem Karoli Baba, called the Ashtavakra Gita 'the purest of scriptures'. All its beauty is in its transparency, its enraptured and flawless purity.
'If I penetrate to the depths of my own existence and my own present reality, the indefinable AM that is myself in its deepest roots, then through this deep centre I pass into the infinite I AM which is the very Name of the Almighty.' ~ Thomas Merton, contemporary scholar and mystic.
When mystics say 'I am God', they are not talking of an individual person. Their inner explorations have revealed the true nature of the Self, and it is this that they identify with God. They are claiming that the essence of Self, the sense of 'I am' without any personal attributes, IS God. 'I am' is one of the Hebrew names of God, Yahweh. Derived from the Hebrew YHWH, the unspeakable name of God, it is often translated as 'I AM THAT I AM.'
I am blissful, I am bountiful, I am beautiful, I am, I am.
