Another Day of Loving

'Dark at 5 am this morning, sitting in meditation, I hear the words of Kahil Gibran: 'Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving.' I sat with this. Our culture imagines loving always with someone particular in mind, a lover, child or friend. There are many people I love, but ~ what is loving? As Gibran refers to it, it's about something more, something wider and deeper, a state of consciousness ~ what we bring to each person, each moment we encounter, each breath we take and movement we make. What if I bring loving to how I touch the keyboard, how I stand in line at the grocery store, how I walk to yoga, how I sip my tea?' ~ Oriah Mountain Dreamer
